What to Tell Your Barber for a Textured Crop
Say this at the chair
A textured crop: short, choppy length on top pushed forward, with a mid fade on the sides.
- Top
- Three to five centimetres (about 1¼ to 2 inches), point-cut for texture, worn forward.
- Sides
- Mid fade from a number 0.5 (#½ guard, about 1.5 mm, 1/16 in) or skin at the bottom, blending to a number 2 (#2 guard, about 6 mm, ¼ in).
- Fringe
- Blunt or lightly textured, sitting on the forehead.
- Styling
- A pea of matte clay worked through damp hair with the fingers, pushed forward. Two minutes.
- Grow-out
- The fade softens after three to four weeks. The top holds its shape for about six.
