Estimate your face shape from a photo

Add a front photo, and if you like, two with your head turned a little. We measure the proportions of your face in this browser and show the closest shape, or say so when we can't tell.

How to take the photo

  • Hold the camera at eye level, about 1 to 1.5 metres away, then crop. Zooming in from close up still makes the middle of the face look wider.
  • Keep a neutral face and look straight at the camera, with even light and no beauty filter.
  • Pull your hair back so your forehead, cheeks and jaw are visible.
  • For the optional turned photos, turn your head about 20 to 30 degrees to each side.

Your photos

Your photos stay on this device. They are measured in this browser tab and are never uploaded, stored or sent anywhere.

Facing the camera, head level. Required.

Head turned about 20 to 30 degrees.

Head turned about 20 to 30 degrees the other way.

For adults. The estimate compares the proportions of your face (length, forehead, cheekbones and jaw) with the seven shapes. It is not a measurement, and it has not been checked against stylists' judgements yet.
