Hairstyle Ideas for Students: Quick to Style, Fewer Haircuts
A student haircut has two jobs: be ready in a few minutes before a morning lecture, and need as few paid haircuts as possible. Choose for those two first, then for the look. The times below come from each cut's page on this site.
Pick a cut that styles in five minutes or less
Styling time here is a normal morning with the product named on the cut's page. The Bro Flow takes about a minute: sea-salt spray on damp hair, pushed back with the fingers. The Textured Crop takes two, with a little matte clay. The Low Fade takes three, and the Classic Bob about five.
Count the haircuts in a year, not only the price of one
Prices change from shop to shop, so we do not list them. The number of visits is what you choose. A cut that lasts eight weeks needs six or seven visits a year; a fade refreshed every three weeks needs about seventeen.
Long Layers go twelve weeks between trims and Curly Layers ten to twelve. The Bro Flow needs its ends trimmed every eight to twelve weeks. A Low Fade needs a refresh every two to three weeks, so a short faded cut means more visits, even though it is quick to style.

Curly hair: ask for a cut that follows the curl
Curly Layers hold their shape for ten to twelve weeks. Styling takes about ten minutes: leave-in and gel on wet hair, then diffuse or air dry. On day two, water and a little cream bring the curls back without washing.
Ask for a dry cut on your curl pattern and no thinning shears, so each curl lands where it sits.
Keep the brief on your phone
Every cut on this site has a page to show in the chair, with the length on top, the sides and how you style it. On phones that allow it, that page can keep the screen on while you show it. Save the cut, and it stays on this device for your next visit.
