Say this at the chair

A modern mullet: tapered sides, a textured top, and the length kept at the back and blended into the top.

Top
Eight to ten centimetres (about 3 to 4 inches), textured.
Sides
Low taper around the ears, short but not to skin.
Back
Twelve to fifteen centimetres (about 5 to 6 inches), falling to the collar, blended into the top, not cut as a separate block.
Fringe
Short and textured, pushed forward or to the side.
Styling
Sea salt spray on damp hair, rough-dried, then a little matte clay. Three to five minutes.
Grow-out
The sides need a clean-up every four to six weeks. The back can keep growing.
