Ponytail hairstyles

High, low and bubble ponytails, each shown from every side with the steps to do it yourself.

A ponytail changes with where it is tied and how the base is finished. The Sleek High Ponytail is brushed up, not back, to the crown, so there are no bumps at the nape, and a strand of hair is wrapped round the tie to hide it. The Low Ponytail with Wrapped Base uses the same wrap at the nape, from a centre part, in three to five minutes.

The Bubble Ponytail adds small elastics every 3 to 5 cm down the length and pulls each section out into a round bubble; it looks fuller on second-day hair. The High Puff is the version for natural curls and coils: gathered at the crown and left full, in five to ten minutes.

All four are done at home in ten minutes or less. Each page lists the steps in order, ending with what to change if the ponytail slips or the bubbles look flat.
