Low Fade
Short • Curly
The Low Fade keeps the curls on top loose and natural instead of shaping them into a block.
A high-top fade grows coily hair tall on top, at least 8 cm, and shapes it into a block with a flat top and crisp edges, over sides and back faded to skin. It is also called a hi-top fade or a box fade. The shape needs a barber's clean-up every one to two weeks.
The high-top fade is a sculpted cut for coily hair. The top is grown out and cut into a tall block, level on top, with sharp corners. The sides and back are faded from skin at the bottom up to the block, and the hairline is lined up at the forehead and temples. The hair is picked out each morning to keep the block even, and a barber reshapes it every one to two weeks.
“A high-top fade: the top shaped into a tall block with a flat top, sides faded to skin, hairline lined up.”
The block and the line-up need a barber every one to two weeks.
